DeepMould builds custom injection molds for large plastic parts from customer-approved CAD data and drawings. Before tool design is released, the part, resin, expected production volume and intended molding machine need to be reviewed together. A mold can match the part geometry and still be unsuitable for the press if its projected area, shot requirement, tie-bar clearance, mold thickness or opening stroke is overlooked.

Tooling Review Before Steel Is Cut

The engineering review starts with parting-line direction, draft, wall transitions, ribs, bosses and undercuts. Features that cannot release in the main opening direction are assigned an appropriate side-action or lifter arrangement. Gate position, runner layout and venting are reviewed against the expected flow path and visible surfaces. These decisions are confirmed against the customer's part requirements rather than copied from a standard mold layout.

Cooling, Ejection and Service Access

For a large mold, cooling balance and service access affect both sampling and later production. Cooling circuits must be planned around the cavity and core geometry while leaving room for slides, lifters, ejectors and fasteners. The ejection layout is reviewed to support the molded part without concentrating force on thin walls or cosmetic areas. Hose connections, lifting points and replaceable wear components should remain accessible when the mold is installed.

Trial Molding and Inspection

The photographs show the mold during inspection, installation and machine trial. Trial settings and sample results are evaluated against the agreed acceptance plan. Dimensional inspection should focus on the customer's critical features, while appearance, fit and assembly tests should be defined for the actual molded part. Corrections are recorded against the approved design before the next trial or shipment decision.

What to Send for a Technical Review

Please provide the 3D part file, 2D drawing, resin grade, surface requirements, annual quantity, target mold life, critical dimensions and intended molding-machine data. If the mold will be transferred to another factory, include that factory's platen, tie-bar, nozzle, ejector and connection standards.
